What Success Really Looks, Feels, and Sounds Like

by Rachael on June 29, 2010

Success looks like a team of talented people, working together organically.

Success sounds like singing someone else’s praises before saying anything about the equally amazing things you did.

Success looks like beautiful, creative things birthed into the world.

Success feels like the best day ever, shared with the best people ever.

Success feels like deepened relationships.

Success looks like you, and me, and all of us, laughing and working together.

Success feels like the world spinning in the exact direction it’s supposed to, with no resistance to learning, adapting, or compromise.

Success looks like just enough cooks in the kitchen.

I just had the honor and privilege to be part of Kyle Durand’s brand new website launch, along with Willie Jackson and Karen Yaeger. If you have a moment to see what success looks like, visit Art of Business.

These are only three of the marvelous entrepreneurs that I met at Lift Off. If we can do this together after less than four months, I can only imagine what we’ll do within a year.

Rachael, you put into words the feelings I couldn’t adequately express. The unveiling of the site really does feel like success — but a group success. I am still in awe of the amazing and wonderful things every person on the team did and the incredible level of combined performance once we established the group vision and started executing. It came together so quickly that my head is still spinning. If anyone has any doubts that creative entrepreneurs have difficulty executing, they should examine this case.

Another success was that everyone embraced their specific roles without the interference of egos. The compassionate exchange of suggestions for improvement in each step of the project produced an amazing result. You summarized the process perfectly with the phrase, “Success feels like the world spinning in the exact direction it’s supposed to, with no resistance to learning, adapting, or compromise.”

Thank you so much for your amazing efforts, the wonderful experience and for capturing the feeling of Success so succinctly.

I’m still reeling from it. I think I will be for at least another week. :)
