18-Feb-09

It’s a long video - about seventeen minutes - but OH MY GOODNESS. This makes me feel like dancing, crying, and laughing all at the same time.

Client Spotlight: That Girl Blogs

20-Dec-08

One of my favorite clients, Shelly from ThatGirlBlogs.com, has just upgraded to Wordpress 2.7 and ALSO bought a lovely theme called Arthemia Premium!  I handled both the upgrade and the new theme installation, as well as helping her tweak settings and files so that everything is exactly how she wants it.

I had designed her a new theme several months ago, but Shelly loves to try new things (don’t we all?), and is very happy with her new look right now.  She did keep the header I made for her, which of course makes me happy.  I love seeing the things I design live on the web.

Here is a before and an after shot:

Please visit Shelly and give her my love - and enter one of her contests!

P.S. If you need help installing or upgrading Wordpress, leave a comment - I install for a low flat rate!

I Love This: Sharpie Pen (Fine Point!)

19-Dec-08
Sharpie Pen

Sharpie Pen

Anyone who has seen my desk already knows how much I love and adore pens. There are very specific pens that I love: that thick-ish black one I got for free when I worked for Servicemaster; the Uniball Jetstream 0.7mm gel-ink hybrid blue and black pens that I horde like gold; and the various types of Sharpies that I have.

I have regular black Sharpies and a two-pack of silver Sharpies that I haven’t even opened yet. I have a lime green and an orange click-top. I have fine-point Sharpies in violet, raspberry, lime green, yellow, and black. I keep them in my purse, on my desk, and with our school supplies. I LOVE SHARPIES!

The only problem I’ve ever had was that, even though I dearly love writing on all my various papers with them, they do tend to bleed through the paper, no matter how thick it is. Yesterday while I was in the office supplies aisle picking out inexpensive stocking stuffers for my kids, I saw this: the Sharpie Pen (if you click that link, you get to see a cool flash demo of the Pen’s apparently awesome abilities). For two pens, it was LESS THAN THREE DOLLARS!

So far I have only written on one kind of paper, because I am inordinately protective of new pens when I find them, but it is BRILLIANT. It is not bleeding, it glides over the paper in a very satisfactory way, and it writes gorgeously. I got the black ink, and next time I am going to try the blue ink.

This Elf is IN LOVE with the Sharpie Pen.
